Artist of the Week: Moon Duo

Moon Duo is San Francisco band formed by guitarist Ripley Johnson from Wooden Shjips and Sanae Yamada. They started their career in 2009 with the EP “Killing Time” followed by “Escape”, another EP released in 2010. Their first full length “Mazes” was released in 2011. This critically acclaimed effort was mixed in Berlin during 2010. On October 1st they released their new brilliant album “Circles”, inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson’s 1841 essay of the same name. This album is the result of a long winter’s isolation on the Rocky Mountains. Before the final mixing at Kaiku Studios in Berlin, the band teamed up with engineer Phil Manley (Trans Am) for an additional recording session.
