Artist of the week on Musikki – Goat

Goat is an Afrobeat-Psy-Rock collective from Sweden signed to UK label Rocket Recordings. Their sound seems influenced by Afrobeat legends like Fela Kuti and Tony Allen mixed with psychedelic and progressive acts like Can or Amon Duul II. In their live shows, this musical influence is emphasized with the theatrical impersonation of characters from a Voodoo curse legend. They say the strength of the curse “can be felt throughout the grooves of Goat records”. The Swedish collective recently launched their debut album “World Music”, a brilliant effort that will certainly feature on most lists of best albums of 2012.
