Artist of the Week on Musikki – Eels

Eels is an American alternative indie rock band formed by Mr. E (Mark Oliver Everett) and other members that rotate frequently. They were founded in 1995 following E’s short solo carrier where he released two albums through Polydor. In 1996, Eels released their debut album, “Beautiful Freak”, through Steven Spielberg’s label DreamWorks. The album immediately captured the critics’ attention and singles like “Novocaine for the Soul” and “Susan’s House” received significant radio airplay. In the following years, expectations were not defrauded and, supported on Mr. E’s talent, the Eels launched 9 great follow up albums. A good example is their latest effort, “Wonderful, Glorious”, which features the single “New Alphabet”.
