Artist of the Week on Musikki – Clinic

In 1997, Ade Blackburn and Jonathan Hartley formed Clinic from the ashes of their previous band, Pure Morning. The Liverpool act line up was completed with the arrival of Brian Campbell and Carl Turney. Their first EP “I.P.C. Subeditors Dictate Our Youth” was released in the same year and it entered John Peel’s Festive 50 attracting the recording industry’s attention. After two other self-financed singles, they finally signed a record deal with Domino records (1999). Their proper debut, “Internal Wrangler”, was released in 2000 and granted them the chance to feature that year’s All Tomorrow’s Parties and to tour with Radiohead. The following release, “Walking With Thee”, which features the brilliant “Harmony”, confirmed that they were heading for a brilliant career. After four other releases – “Winchester Cathedral” (2009), “Visitations” (2006), “Do It!” (2008) and  “Bubblegum” (2010) – they released “Free Reign” on November 12th, 2012, featuring the single “Miss You”.
