Artist of the Week: Broken Bells
Brian Burton and James Mercer first worked together for the Dark Night of The Soul project with Sparklehorse and began recording as early as 2008. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2010, followed a year later by the Meyrin Fields EP. Both records were praised due to their exquisite, top-notch produced and balanced mixture of electronics, atmospheric melodies and intimate songwriting.
The new After the Disco not only deepens to panoramic levels Broken Bells’ trademark melancholy, but also adds the exact amount of boldness and experimentation to finally make two of the most distinct pop artists of the last decade shine out of their comfort zone.
